PRONAM
The Pronam project for senior citizens is a unique community-service model in India for the senior citizens of Kolkata. Pronam is run by Kolkata Police in collaboration with The Bengal and has been supporting numerous senior citizens in distress since its inception in 2010. Pronam currently has more than 20,000 registered senior citizens on its roll and there is a huge demand to expand its sphere and cover more senior citizens. During corona Pronam volunteers provided medicines and essential services to the elderly who were left on their own.The Pronam project has grown over the years and reached out to the senior citizens of the city providing security and moral support.
On an average, Pronam receives close to 1000 applications each month from senior citizens seeking membership. Currently, senior citizens above the age of 60 years living within the jurisdiction of Kolkata are eligible for Pronam membership under certain criteria.
বর্তমান প্রকল্প
‘দ্য বেঙ্গল’, কলকাতা পুলিশের সহযোগিতায় শহরের প্রবীণ নাগরিকদের জন্য ‘প্রণাম’ নামক একটি অনন্য প্রকল্প চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে । এই কর্মসূচির মাধ্যমে কলকাতা পুলিশের এক্তিয়ারভুক্ত অঞ্চলে প্রবীণ নাগরিক বিশেষত যাঁরা একা থাকেন তাঁদের সমস্ত রকম সহায়তা প্রদানের জন্য ২৪ ঘণ্টার সমন্বয় নিয়ন্ত্রণ কক্ষ গঠন করে সদা প্রস্তুত থাকে ‘প্রণাম’। বর্তমানে ২০ হাজারের বেশি সংখ্যক মানুষ প্রণামের সদস্য এবং প্রতিদিন অসংখ্য মানুষ ‘প্রণাম’-এর সঙ্গে যুক্ত হবার জন্য যোগাযোগ করেন। বর্তমানে এই অতিমারীর সময়ে ‘প্রণাম’ অত্যন্ত দায়িত্বের সঙ্গে তাদের কর্তব্য পালন করেছে। আমাদের গ্যালারি পাতায় এই সংক্রান্ত আরো তথ্য এবং কার্যাবলী সম্পর্কে জানতে পারবেন।
